(1)A Residents’ Association called ‘JICHI-KAI’ consists of people in neighborhood.
It organizes activities for the benefit of the community, including crime prevention, cleaning of public places, waste management and others.
(2)Join the JICHI-KAI of your area if you plan to reside in Japan for a long time.

Ogaki City has prepared a "Living Guidebook for Foreign Residents" in Portuguese, Chinese, English, and "plain Japanese" for foreign residents, which contains useful information for daily life such as garbage disposal and child-rearing.

●Japanese class for foreign residents living in the city
Target: Beginners level
Fees：1,000 ～ 2,000 yen for three months
Contents： Basic Japanese, improvement of daily conversation
●One-on-one Japanese study with Japanese volunteers
Target: Beginner to intermediate level (daily conversation level)
Lesson time: 8:30 ～ 17:00 on any day except for Tuesdays
Fees：1,000 yen for three months
Content: One-on-one with a volunteer instructor. Study time will be decided upon coordination with the instructor.
●Japanese Chat Room
Target: Beginner to intermediate level (daily conversation level)
Hours: 9:30～12：30 of every Sunday
Fees: Free of charge
Content: Free talk in Japanese with Japanese volunteers

・3か月(げつ)で お金(かね)が 1,000円(えん)から 2,000円(えん) かかります。
●マンツーマン日本語(にほんご)学習(がくしゅう)
・日本語(にほんご)を あまり はなせない 人(ひと)が 勉強(べんきょう)します。
